Inaugural Poets

Inaugural Poets is a performance-based cinematic project that combines theater arts with motion capture to create narrative-driven motion picture content. The project was a collaboration between CSUSB’s ATI department and the Theater Department, utilizing Qualisys optical motion capture, Unreal Engine 5, and digital character creation tools.

Responsibilities:

1. Motion Capture Operation:

   Trained to operate the Qualisys motion capture system and Qualisys Track Manager (QTM) for recording and refining performance data

2. AIM Configuration:

   Created custom Actor Identification Models (AIMs) tailored to different performers for accurate tracking and retargeting

3. Metahuman Clothing Design:

   Designed and modeled custom clothing in Blender for integration with Metahuman characters used in the final scenes

4. Pipeline Integration:

   Assisted in preparing assets for real-time rendering in Unreal Engine 5
